Six hours and fried. Quit in the middle of a song, no surge, spike, nothing.

Well contact PMI/Studio Projects....................somehow, I don't think you will have any problems.

That's a bummer... but this is not the Studio Projects/PMI Audio problem message board... you need to report your Studio Projects mic problems to PMI Audio and not here... otherwise this message board might be filled with nothing but Studio Project mic problems. Good luck.

email them. they replace them. hey, my dad bought a brand new car (and not a cheap one!) and a year later the automatic gearbox went and the brake discs went soon after. it's what warranties are for!

Lets give a newbie a break here. Maybe he was looking for others with a similar experience.

Call PMI at 877-563-6335 and explain your problem. They do have excellent customer service and you should be well taken care of.

yeah, sorry if i came across wrong! all i meant was that it could happen to any mic, even an expensive one. sorry it worked out like that for you, but as fmp says, they have a very good reputation for customer service (aided in part by their occasional responses on threads like these to offer replacements!!). let us know how the new one goes, i'm still going to buy one as soon as i've sorted out some proper monitors.

Yes - what freshmattyp said. I've had two B1's now for over a year with no problems, so I'm guessing yours is an isolated circumstance. I'm certain that PMI will repair or replace your mic.

Two B1s for a year with no problems here. Yes, contact PMI.

freshmattyp is right... sorry skeelsd, I apologize, and I hope you get your Studio Projects B1 mic fixed, replaced, or get a refund that you can put towards getting a better mic. Good luck.

Do a search and you'll find that there are others who have had problems also. The B1 is a pretty new mic on the market and sometimes it takes a while before problems surface... and we hear about them. Overall, I don't think the B1 has had many problems... a few, but not that many... but like I said before, the B1 is new... and only time will tell how well it's really made.

SP folks very apologetic. Hopefully, will have it back soon and let on to the problem(s).

How many days ago did you send them the mic... and how many days did they say it would take to fix?

I've never had a problem with my B-1, or my C-3. I did, however, have a problem with one of my C-4's. The problem was corrected and turned around in 4 days, with next day shipping. No bitch here.-Richie

over 10 days. they haven't indicated when I'll get it.
Thanks skeelsd... bummer. I'm curious how long it takes them to correct the problem so please keep me up to date with what happens. Thanks again. :)

skeelsd,

I don't have your mic here. What is the ATR# and how did you send it?

Hey Brent. Encouraging to see you are reading these post. R. Hargrove sent the mic out of Knoxville, TN. That help? What was/is the malfunction?

skeelsd,

We have an ATR from a Rex Hargrove, but the database does not show the mic as being checked in yet, i.e. it's still in transit.
