DJL,

YOU JUST MADE EVERYONE ELSE'S POINT!! What is the big deal, indeed. Why do you need to repeat what's obvious to anyone with half a brain who's browsed this site AT ALL in the last year or two?
Really, why don't you "out" some manufacturer who tries to HIDE the origins of its capsules, etc. (Audio Technica anyone?). C'mon, man, lay off!

You don't like Alan. We get it.

The 797 Audio/Studio Projects B1 says "797 Audio Studio Projects B1" right on the mic... so I'm calling the mic by it's name. What does the Audio Technica mic that your referring to say on it?

Again, you're making my point. Wouldn't it be more beneficial to this group if you researched mic companies who DIDN'T advertise the source of their components on each mic?

If you think it's such a good idea you should do the research. The 797 Audio/Studio Projects B1 says "797 Audio Studio Projects B1" right on the mic... and not only does 797 Audio make the Studio Projects mic's for PMI, 797 Audio designed the Studio Projects mic's for PMI (along with Alan Hyatt's input... or so says Alan). IMO, I think 797 Audio deserves more credit.

Amazing how you can keep a straight face when you say that.....

What is the basis for this opinion? I don't suppose you have any evidence to support your claims? I strongly suspect that this has more to do with your "hard-on" for Alan than any kind of facts.

Please quit beating the dead horse.

Please note: I added the numbers to freshmattyp's post above.

(1) The opinion is based in light of those in this thread not wanting anyone to call a 797 Audio/Studio Projects B1 mic a 797 Audio/Studio Projects B1 mic.

(2) The evidence is printed on the mic and in this thread.

(3) That's not how this thread started out.. but, that seems to be how you and some of the others here would like it to be.

(4) Exactly.

Come on, DJ, just admit it. You think you're Alan's bastard son (Jarrod, Justin and Dustin Jason) by a hooker in Shanghai who's now the CEO of 797. and Alan has refused to accept you as his heir and all you've inherited is 3,000 797Audio mic capsules instead of Studio Projects Microphones.

Just get over it. Stop trying to increase the value of 797's stock. We're on to you.
Life goes on.

Damm... lol. :D

I don't see anything wrong with it.

I think 797 Audio should get more credit, because they make some good mics, like the B1. And if they didn't want the recognition and/or marketing, then I don't suppose they'd put their logo on the mics.

I also believe that if people like Alan wish to be so diligent about pointing out the origins of competitors' mics like ADK, for example, then the favor should be returned the other way.

1. So you really don't have any proof at all, just your own half-assed reasoning.

2. See number 1.

3. I'm just piling on. This is how I bump up my post count, debunking your silly-assed theories. Maybe for consistency you could label all mics by their manufacturer/distributor. At least then your agenda wouldn't be so transparent.

4. Whap! Whap! Nope, still dead.

I've attached a picture that summarizes DJL's input on every SP mic thread:

And speaking of Alan, whoever's father he is, I can add that I just received my fourth email from him today. He's been helping me sort out a mic'ing issue in my studio, which includes some B1s, and he's been nothing short of thoughtful and timely in his contact. If only all reps gave the same response. Two thumbs up.

Why do you have a problem with the 797 Audio Studio Projects B1 mic being called a 797 Audio Studio Projects B1 mic?

hear ya, Alan services his products. I enjoyed reading his post before he was run off of this site. Too bad he wasn't welcome here.......but hey.....he said his mics are GOOD, he is proud of them, and he stands behind them"

Who does he think he is.....talking like that?

Alot of people are so desparate to attack him they glob on to any thread that MIGHT mention Studio Projects and post the same old stuff (that is so old that it has T-Rex shit on it).

Then, the sit back and pray...they pray that Alan will actually read their pathectic bablings and respond

damn people, get a life.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. Did you say there was anything wrong with it? Who said there was anything wrong?

This may be like saying "Simon and Shuster writes some good books." They edit, print and distribute books, but they don't write them.
For all we know, the SP mics are designed primarily by Studio Projects personnel, and only built by 797. So until we know who designed the mics, it's absurd to assign credit for the design.
