Studer A80 close to monitors ??

hello,
i'd like to know if there's any problem to put my Studer A80 at 20cm (10 inches) from my monitors (adam A7X) ??
is that dangerous in any way ??

Get a Gauss meter and check (you should have one anyway, for your deck demags).

Those A7 monitors are probably shielded...but that doesn't mean there is “0” magnetic radiation.

I'm curious...what kind of mixing position setup do you have so that your deck is 10" away from the monitors? Even if the manetic radiation is not an issue...the deck could be affecting the response of the speakers.
Is it sitting between them?

The only problem I've ever heard with that is you are supposed to keep your tape away from monitors (3 ft) because of the magnet. Though I have doubts anything would happen.

I wouldn't be comfortable with that. I follow that 3' rule "just because".

Can't comment on the magnet issue, but it will definitely have a negative effect on your monitors' ability to throw a balanced, accurate, smooth soundstage.
