What the hell are you talking about? I use mostly Vic Firth 7A's and sometimes even the AJN's.
Pfffff. Noob.

So........... we all started out with 7A's and a Ludwig Acrolite snare drum, eh?
Sorry child, but when I started drumming there weren't any of those drums around yet. I began with these "stupid big" field drum sticks and then as the Brit Invasion happened I got into rock music and played bigger sticks and then I got very into jazz drumming and playing with more acoustic instruments and the sticks got smaller and my playing became subtler. I understand the concept that different folks use different types of sticks depending on their artistic choice, do you?[/img]

Did you guys miss the "kind of" part?
Personally I don't think I'll ever handle 7As again, but of course they're a useful stick. All sticks have a purpose.
Been drumming for 14 years, still find myself grabbing some 7A's when I am trying to get specific stick definition when recording mono rimshot sample.
Alot of people say that Sabian B8 Pro's are worthless cymbols - I disagree. If it looks like a cymbol, and sounds like a cymbol when hit, then by George, it is a good cymbol. I have thousands invested in cymbols. Many thousands, and you know what, I kept an old set of B8 HH's because they fit in the mix with a rendition of "Ain't got nothing but the Blues" better than a set of 13" dark K's.
I submit that it is not the quality of instrument, but rather the quality of musician. I watched Mike Portnoy play a Jr. CB Drum set after doing a drum clinic. A father wanted to see if it was a viable drum set for his 5 year old son... Mike destroyed that set, factory heads, not tuned like the Tama he performed on during the clinic. And you know what, he traded out the pressed sheet metal HH's and the 16" sheet metal crash for a set of B8 pros. (HH, 16" crash, 20" ride). Needless to say, that father bought his son the Jr. kit and a set of B8's.
Oh, and for the stick size.... Mike Portnoy uses 5A's. It is all about how well you can controll the sticks. If it needs to be louder, turn up the mics, don't risk beating your drum heads so hard they dent, dont risk cracking a cymbol, and for crying out loud, sticks can last forever if you treat them like an instrument of music and not an instrument of destruction.
Lol @ sticks lasting forever.
Do you even play drums at all?![]()
What's a cymbol????????
yeah...I'd say about a 7.![]()
I'm home recovering from heart surgery and I'm in a really PISSY mood. I just want to get out working again.
BTW I can play with 7A's and make them not wussy.![]()
.................and Sabian B8's still suck.
