WOW!...........
the microphone forum is a truly strange and restless place. :)

... i think djl is extending an olive branch here, fellas. how about giving the guy the benefit of the doubt for a bit, regardless of the past?
just a thought, from someone who has little history here - jv

Yeah, microphones seem to attract really wierd and convoluted personalities - Stephen Paul as an example.

I would agree with you. However, this place is sort of like an alien, living organism with a mind of its own. Although it sometimes responds predictably to a given stimulus, other times it writhes and lashes out as if posessed by the very devil. :)

Very much in line with chaos-theory...

He does that every few posts then starts up again. What do you expect from some jerkoff who works at Guitar Center and can't even figure out how to post an mp3.

Something tells me thats exactly what JV didn't want to hear...

... c'mon man, you're just asking for him to lash out at you, and keep recycling this tired crap. in all honesty, even if it has only been for a couple of days, he's chilled out, and you guys that have it in for him keep pickin on him every chance you get.
do you really think that saying this about him, and having others chime in to beat up on him too, is going to help him chill?
let it be... and maybe he will too - jv

Unfortunately, he's a bit like a dog that keeps pissing on the rug. He may go a few days without doing it, but eventually he returns to his old habits.

I think they want me to talk more about PMI... should I give them what they want or just start attacking each of them individually... or what do you think I should do... what would you do?

i'm done with this...

... i understand, but why not give him a chance to do it on his own, instead of pushing him back there?
it almost seems like there are folks here that don't want him to be cool, so they have someone to slag on for entertainment. and maybe he likes a good fight, too, but i think he's trying to chill. i'm pretty sure none of the people involved on either side of this tired crap, go around talking to people in the real world like this. it's easy to be a bully sitting at a laptop, and i think it's a drag.
i'm not taking sides here, i just selfishly want to be able to enjoy this forum and share knowledge with likeminded artists, without seeing people being just being rude to each other for sport. whether you realize it or not, that stupid vibe spills over into a lot of other posts around here, and takes the focus off of what this valuable forum is all about: people who love music, helping each other out.
i'm done. this is the last post i will make on this topic. i sincerely apologize if i've bored anyone with my view. i'm embarassed that i'm talking about this nonsense, on a thread that was dedicated to stephen paul's apparently excellent work in the audio field. i wish i knew more about his work, and i'm sorry that he passed away.
peace - jv

I agree with JV, just try without stabbing at him and see what he does.

I just checked back into this thread and cant believe it has grown to 7 pages, what a waste!

you know NAMM is this week, there's gonna be a lot of things to chat about, why dont we end this?...no more wallowing around in the mud!

Thats cause we keep adding pointless replies such as this one to boost our post count?

That what many people use me for... they have nothing to add to the BBS but they want to run thier point count up, so they just jab at me. I use the board to try and help people or learn sometime myself, but lately most of my time here has been spent bickering with dickwads.

Have a great day.

Genlemen,

I am sorry to make this tread even bigger, but I am sincerely wondering--I am a newbie with modest 36 posts, so what is the point of boosting point counts? Does the winner get prize in the end? Should I work very hard to catch up? Or at certain point people are able to change the title? I am perfectly fine with mine.

Post count gives folks an idea of who actually has a life and who doesn't. :D
