DJL,

What, pray tell, was the "resolution" of the issue of the bad shockmounts?...or will you also hide the fact that studio projects either fixed or replaced all of the mics in question?

Could you become any more stupid than you already are?

Hmmm...I've got to think about that one for a while.

Thinking....

Thinking....

Thinking....

DING!

The correct answer is....

No. DJL can NOT become any more stupid.

To do so would prove many of Darwin's theories incorrect.

No, but you should let those who don't know who you are, know that you are speaking in behalf of PMI, don't you think?

And if you'd care to tell "what's incorrect" I'm sure there are some who would like to know.
Where did you go Justin?

Where did you go Justin, your not going to to just run away without answering are you?

Don't YOU run away without answering...what was the resolution of the issue? Did Studio Projects/PMI fix or replace the mics?

damn it

... i feel sorry that my question was the catalyst to stir this shit up again. as i stated in my first post, i was hoping to avoid this sort of thing. it's reeeaaally getting old.

i asked what the rant was about, and crazy doc gave me a very polite, objective answer. much appreciated. in my reply to him, i did mention that i was glad it was more of question of promotional ethics, and not an euipment issue. djl replied to this to inform me that there may have also been some issues with quality control, but nothing that was out of the ordinary for budget stuff. i thanked him for the heads up, and moved on. i felt like my questions were answered quite well by those two posts.
i know there is history here that i am not a part of, but from my perspective, there was no need to go any further with this.
peace - jv

DJL, I suggest you go away for about a year. Come back when all this has died down. You just can't let it go. Take a year to do so.

Looks like the kinder, gentler DJL lasted all of 2 days. I have to give him credit, that's longer than I though he'd make it.

I think I remember reading that the internal shock mounts had to be redesigned and 797 Audio is now making the mics with the new design.

Where did you go Justin?

I was asked to talk about this shit... all, they had to do was to stop attacking me and say they wanted to drop it and we would have.

You DID NOT answer the question. Did the mics get replaced or fixed? That is, did PMI send functional mics to the folks complaining? This is a "yes" or "no" answer.

Why don't you guys stop asking about it if you really want to drop it?

That's what I said too.

Because it's so much more fun letting you make yourself look like a fool every time you post a response...

More evasion tactics DJL. Answer the question... "yes" or "no" did PMI/Studio Projects send functional mics to the folks who complained? Answer the question.

Let's do a little math here.

I've got a C1, so let's figure the B1 box is the same size that mine is-13"x9"x5"...total cubic volume of 585 cubic inches.

An ocean container is 48 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 7 feet tall. That's 576"x96"x84"...total cubic volume of 4,644,864 cubic inches.

A little math indicates that a single container can hold approximately 7900 B1 mics.

Can you verify that over 7000 B1's had defective shock mounts?

I've heard about 2 or 3 on this forum...where are the other 6997?

And before you tell me to search the board, I already did that. Performed a search on "Studio Projects B1*". Found 1 thread about a mic out of warranty that Alan fixed for free, and 2 about mics with bad shock mounts. So there's 3 total.

That sounds like a REALLY small container. More like a box.

Not bad, however the B1 box is about half the size of the C1 box and when we send containers we send 20 foot long ones not the 48 foot ones. We aren't that big yet.

DJL,
Excuse me for not being at your feet on command, but I do have a life and wouldn't be sitting here on a Saturday night if I didn't have a horrendous case of the flu. As for the shockmounts yes the very first shipment of B Series used a capsule mounting design that was thrown out and updated. The majority of the older design mounts where changed by our distributors in Europe before the mics even got to stores. However, yes there were some that received mics with the old mounts. Those that wanted them changed got them replaced simple as that. Since that first shipment that capsule mount has not been used and this problem does not exist.

Thank you Justin, and now hopefully we can all let this drop and move on to better things... and I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks, and so do I on both counts.
