Hey guys, I'm brand new here, so if i posted this in the wrong forum, please forgive me.

I'm looking to start a home studio to record my demo and perhaps eventually do recordings for other artists down the road. However, right now, the main purpose is my own stuff :D.

I have a budget of about $750-$1k. I had N-track a while back, but beyond that, my recording experience is pretty limited. I have an acer aspire 5610 with a busted sound card  and a 22' flat screen monitor.

I was looking at the indamixx system bc it seemed pretty simple and came with everything included, but I've been steered away (and to here) by the guys at my guitar forum.

So what programs etc would you recommend? Thanks guys, i appreciate any and all responses.

Hey Mikey glad your here. Try Reaper you can down load a full version for free and if you like it, and in time you can purchase it for about $60.
You might want to also read the stickys in the microphone forum, cause that will be your next group of questions that you will ask about when it comes to recording.

Thanks man, I'll look into it. Anyone else? I may need to buy an entire new CPU considering my soundboard/sound card issues, or whatever it is. Greek squad had no clue, lol.
