Sorry about posting this on this forum, but when I tried the marketing and publicity forum, the nice server wants me to download the great nonexistent file I'm sure y'all have run into.
Well, anyway, I've said for a long time I would do this when the time was right, and it is now. I've got about 2500 mostly helpful posts here, and I figure that ought to buy me one, and only one, serious piece of formed pork product. I started a little more than two years ago without a mic, or a clue. I got the clue from Mr. Q, and Blue Bear, C7sus, Gidge, Harvey Gerst, trackrat, John Sayers, Littledog, and countless others.
I built the studio I currently own primarily to track (not mix, not master) one wicked eclectic project album, called "Reunion". It went on sale today. From clueless newbie to self tracked, self produced commercial release in two years! I am tired, and broke, having shelled out something like the price of a new Lexus to do it.
To those of you who have heard some of the guide tracks, I can tell you, it sounds one hell of a lot better after mixing by Littledog and mastering by Sjoko. One of the most eclectic project CD's ever made by one small set of staff, "Reunion" runs the gamut from medieval Celtic lap harp overlayed with violin, rennaissance classic guitar and Persian zarb, to 1980's big-hair jock rock! We have recorded blues, folk, neo-psychedelic, jazz-rock fusion, and a Texas two-step!
If I've ever helped you, or you believe in supporting the commercial efforts of small time independants, or you just want to add a unique album to your collection, buy this puppy, and send five copies to your mother!
Now, a lot of people on the board bitch when a project CD is sold at full price, but considering I flew in good overdub staff from all over the U.S., we've laid out enough to make it necessary- and reasonable. However, the executive producer has agreed to a small break for registered members of Homerec.com. If you like to pay full price, just log onto my website, www.bardwire.com and go to the "Reunion" page, and you can buy it by mail or paypal. If you wish to use a credit card, the link to www.cdfreedom.com will be up within a couple of days. Or- you can just send me a PM with a mailing address and we'll ship it ourselves. The price is $15, but if you PM me and pay by check or money order, we'll save you the $2.50 in shipping that the web site will attach, and sign it, of course, if you wish. I can tell you it's worth it just for Rimshot's original artwork and Littledog's organ track on "Sunset Nostalgia".
We will now return you to your regularly scheduled programming. A debate on the merits of DJL vs. PMI Audio is in progress. I will go forth, Father, and SPAM no more.-Richie

Day one, about 100 down, 2900 to go. I'm getting writer's cramp.
The real deal starts with the formal release January 31. God, this ids fun!-Richie

Richie, sounds like a cool project. You really ought to post some shorts clips of a few songs as I think that'd help sales a lot.

Yo Flatpicker! Done, and almost done. The raw tracks for most (not all) of the songs are here:

www.nowhereradio.com/artists/?aid=3239/album680

These are mono house mixes- no panning, no EQ, no compression, no reverb, no FX, nada.-naked. I will tell you this- after Littledog and Sjoko got done with it, it sounds a hell of a lot better.
Within the week, www.cdfreedom.com (an east coast cdbaby equivalent) will have 3 clips and one MP3 up with finished masters, just 2 minute clips. The hardest part is picking 3 songs to try and represent a product this eclectic. All of it should be up within a few days. Our website, www.bardwire.com will have all the links and purchasing options you can stand. ...working....- Richie
