Whenever I edit a file in Sound Forge (loops for example) and save it as an MP3 it reopens itself and contains a very very short silence space before and after the file. Sometimes it's hardly noticeable, other times (such as in loops) you can hear a big gap before it loops around again. Anyone know why it's doing this?? Is it a preferece or is it just the way MP3s are compressed? It doesn't happen when I save it as a WAV.....just wondering.

yea Same Thing Happens To Me, However When I Use Cool Edit It Doesnt Happen For Some Reason, That One Of The Reasons That All The Loops That I Have I Have In .wav Form Because It Doesnt Leave That Tiny Space At The Beginning Of Each Loop Or Ended Finalized Track... Plus I Noticed That My Loops In .wav Form Give The Final Beat Or Product More Of A Crisp Sound, Peace

I don't see the advantage of trying to create a piece out of mp3 loops as opposed to .wav other than HD space. Render the whole piece to .wav and THEN compress the final product to .mp3 format (if needed).

yeah, that's pretty much what I'm doing....it was just a curiosity question. I fell into some random loops that were in MP3 format, and when I just did a Save and not a save as it gave me that gap. So i figured I'd inquire about it. Oh well...another reason to hate MP3s I guess.
