Slackmaster2K

Gone
Three weeks ago...big server upgrade at work. Put in 70+ hours. After all that, it's a big failure because of some faulty SCSI SCA->LVD adapters.

Two weeks ago...First, me & my chicky-poo decide to get married and there is much rejoicing! Then I go back to wisconsin for my grandpa's 80th birthday party. Spent most of the week there and had a pretty good time.

Last week...catchup at work for the previous week. I finally decide to go in and see the doctor about some heart palpitations & chest pain (and dizzy spells and the shits and sharp pains in the head and severe fatigue) who does all sorts of fancy tests and whatnot only to find out that I'm just a mental case. I've been this way since I quit smoking a couple years ago. He puts me on Zoloft for depression & anxiety and if it works I'll probably end up becoming a dorky boston fan like Brad. Taking brain pills is weird because you suddenly realize that you're not sure what's real and what's not, and whether that is even an issue.

This week...my grandpa died yesterday and I'm heading back to wisconsin.

I'll be back sunday and will begin printing again next week. I'll check in with some news of progress at that time.

Thanks for your patience.

Congratulations to you and your chicky poo!!!!!!

And dont worry...ive been on crazy pills quite a few weeks now and i still think Boston sucks.......

Sorry about your Grandpa. :(

But, belated congrats to you and Mrs. Slackmaster2K!

I can't believe I wasn't invited. I am so hurt.

No I'm not. I just said that.

Is your wife named Amanda? That would have been a good song to play at the wedding.

:D

I see my Marianne Walkin' Away...

>(and dizzy spells and the shits and sharp pains in the head and severe fatigue)

That's most likely from drinking Budweiser too close to the Bozeman Triangle.

Congratulations on getting married! Sorry about your grampa.

Where in Wisconsin were you two weeks ago?

Anxiety Attacks

Man I am the absolute seasoned fucking vet when it comes to anxiety attacks. I have been having panik attacks since I was 12 years old. They suck worse than anything I can imagine.

Those dizzy spells are almost 100% (in my opinion) due to some shitty anxiety attack version of hyperventilation. When your heart "skips a beat" or palpitates or whatever it does... your mind causes your body to go on full alert and your blood flow to the limbs and head is noticeably decreased, while it increases to your lungs and heart. Your stomach muscles tense up slightly (most people don't even realize that their stomach and shoulder muscles are tense) which causes the diaphram to not be able to raise and fall like it should to promote propper breathing. This causes you to breathe much faster and shallower, only filling the top 1/4 of your lungs rather than the bottom full lungs like you whould "normally". All this causes the head to feel dizzy and sometimes to even make you feel like you are living in some kind of cloudy dream, with your head hovering above your shoulders a few inches.

If any of this sounds familiar then PLEASE throw the fucking Zoloft away. It honestly to go alters your brain chemistry until you are an altered version of you. My mother took that shit after all the kids left the house... and after 6 months of cooking her brain like that, it was like talking to some stranger on the phone. A lot of the time, those drugs can make you feel dizzy which is what you were trying to get rid of.
They don't fix any problem... just cover it up, or even make them worse.
Coping with stress propperly, propper breathing, and a ton of other natural things that I do everyday are the ONLY 100% way to get rid of that damn monkey.
You would be so surprised to know how many people have this sort of stuff.

Take care man,

Mike

Dude, I've been having stress problems for the last few years, and summing all of my errors up like that scares the hell out of me. Don't ever do that again.

But it made me think. And it's just one more reason to give up my job, and focus on music (less stress), and to finally go and see a fysical therapist to learn me how to sit straight etc... Any advice of how to cope with stress properly is welcome...

Sorry to hear about your granddad slack. Congrats on your wedding! Sounds like a pretty busy month. Hope you get everything running normal again soon...

Well ROEL you are one post away from being a Silver Member... maybe now you will have less stress.

Damn, you guys surprise and worry me - a fairly small sample of people here, and so many people reporting stress levels to the extent of worrying symptoms and chronic drug use.

How can you all know *so* much about music and recording and so little about self-government? I'm not scoring points here - I really thought musicians knew about the rhythm of tension and release. So much for that fond theory...

Anybody wanna talk about it, email me We'll set up a chat room or paltalk some time. :)

If a hormonal imbalance is the cause of my depression then I'll make no bones about taking medication. It's better than McDonald's and nicotine.
