Sony U-50

I have a set of Stereo Speakers. They are an old set of sony
u- 50. Anyone ever heard of these. I have heard that these give very accurate sound reproduction, therefore I was wondering if I could use these for monitors or if it would be like junk. If you do not believe I could then does anyone know of a O.K. set of monitors for 150 dollars for the pair. They can be powered or unpowered and e-bay is an option. Thanks in advance, Matt

Dont know nothing about the Sony's.
If they dont work out, take a look at the M-Audio SP-5B's
They have dropped in price to $199 {powered monitors}
