oh..and one last thing...I gotta agree big time with one of the statements above... you got some cajones to submit something with 30+seconds of lofi schtuff at the beginning and hoping it wouldn't get yanked before the transform...

Thanks mixmkr.. and I totally agree with you about the solo...

Thats one of the reasons that I want to redo it.... And yeah, vocals are a bit quiet... Maybe not the layers, but the solo singing in between layers on the pre-chorus is low...

Is that where you mean?

I will try and type that article out tommorow at work... Theres probably a few others who don't have access to the magazine who would like to read it also...

I will post it in this thread..

It's hard to find those magazines these days, only the big box bookstores seem to have Eq, or Recoring.......

7-elevens and shopping mall bookstores, don;t seem to care about our recording reading needs :D

Joe..

"is that what you mean"

actually yes...but the whole song, TO ME the singing could be louder.

Don't mean to make you re-type the whole article, but that would be neat.

I actually get EQ ( and a couple others...but not Recording) free for being a "commercial studio" Of course they don't know I make millions with my hourly rate, and can afford a subscription:rolleyes:

TO ME the singing could be louder.

I'll explore that when I redo it....

I will pass it off on my secretary when I catch her filing her nails.....;)

She'll type that up 3 minutes....Very fast.. No problem..

Real cool song. Great feel to it - Nice melody.

I thought the shifts from low fi to hi fi seemd a bit abrupt. Also once I switched to hi fi I would have stayed there. I had a bit of trouble hearing the words, particularly in the chorus. Seemed they were a bit covered up by the guitars though.

Despite that, I still really love the song. It has a style that I really like.

Thanks for listening!

Im thinking of axing the second lo fi part.....

I read it, no problem ;)

Second congrats Vox! Hey, can I use that for a news article on NoWhereMedia.com, to boast about ya?

W.

Better than radio...

Joe, this is great stuff. I wish I could hear you when I turn on the radio instead of the usual suspects...could definitely happen, you got the mojo. Nice work, man.

Mark

Hey..thanks Kramer. I could easily read it...and it was a good read too. way to go, Joe (and Kramer):)

Very tight. Cool stuff, Vox. Great productions and writing.

I'd agree you are pushing it with the lo-fi. I would recomend kicking everything in right after the first line of the verse. The transitions to the chorus are a little weird. There isn't anything tieing them together and a more powerfull verse might do the trick.

I listened to "In My Head". Cool song, the chorus is awesome. The 80's metal guitar and the melody in the verse seemed a little out of place but the chorus kicks ass.

Great work.

Hey Vox,
Have you ever listened to any Matthew Sweet? The Chorus and solo section remind me a lot of his style.

MIXMKR,
Glad you could read the article.Sam had me worried there for a minute.:D

Tex... Thanks..

Yeah, Im going to leave the lo fi intro like it is, but then after the prechorus jusmps in as usual, it wont go back into lo fi mode again.... (except for the little breakdown after the chorus, which isn;t really lofi, just a little loop in the drumbeat.)

I am heavily influenced by 80's rock... Def Leppard is my favorite band... Im sort of stuck in 1987... But somewhere along the way my songs picked up a slight alternative edge....

Kramer... No, never heard Mathew Sweet.. I will have to check that out sometime just out of curiosity...

Joe

Im not saying you sound just like matthew Sweet....you just have hints of him in certain parts of this song.

Vox, I listened yesterday but was unable to respond. Everytime I tried to post I'd get kicked off with the infamous "Too Many Users" messege. Very, very, very cool. I like the low fi intro but not too sure about going back into it. Just my humble opinion, but still, fantastic tune and recording. Mikey likes it!:D
