i saw the Cakewalk/Sonar topic and i thought i would check it out and discovered it empty. Nobody on HomeRecording.com uses Sonar? or maybe everyone is so good with it nobody has any questions?

please share your knowledge with others. ask questions. give away secret tips and tricks of the trade!

Everybody here uses Sonar, unless you're one of those other guys.....

SONAR 7 pro

Started with Homestudio 2002, then 2004. Made the jump to SONAR 4 then to SONAR 5, SONAR 6 and...now 7.

No regrets.

Was all about Sonar, then I went to school and am forced to use pro tools. Yes, they basically do the same thing, but 8 years of cakewalk means that most of my usual habits make pro tools do wierd things!!!

I finally got around to downloading the Reaper demo. It doesnt seem to be very good with midi. Is there no notation view? I couldnt find one.

That question will be quickly answered in the Reaper forum.

By all accounts Reaper is very weak in the MIDI area.If you just want to track it's supposed to be the cat's pajamas though.

Reaper's better.

Well it's definitely cheaper.

If you're just starting out SPE has a great bundle of software and synths,a very complete software package.

I've been tempted to D/L Reaper, but the time it takes to learn new toys usually takes away from my recording time.

It's a pretty quick curve.
