Are there any cheap small display monitors around? I have been toting my computer around and making recordings from a board and stereo mics, I have a wireless keyboard and mouse, but my monitor is the “biggest” thing and i’m trying to figure out a way to view my software enough to set the levels and get it recording and then come back to my home and use my good monitor for editing etc.... I was wondering if old laptops have a video in.... Any ideas?

Thanks

I think you are probably SOL, I'm afraid. Cheap and Small don't go well together in the computer world :) (at least, not small as in portable)

There are LCD panels available now for about $1000, but that may break your budget.

ebay, find an old cheap monitor, most likely small, so you don't have to worry about smoke and other blah!

I've seen a few 15" LCD's for around $500 new, think maybe Hyundai or Hitachi.. one or the other. That ain't cheap though, standard of living depending. If your video card has video out (or if it doesn't pick up a cheapy), you could feed that out to a little 14" Monitor, still a little bulky though. They also make video cards that output to LCD eye-glasses... that would be cool!
