They're both great mics for dirty guitar, can you honestly say that you know which will work better for HIS particular application?

I think I can say that the e609 silver is better in all cases for guitar amp, unless you like that 57 presence peak and lack of low end.vox said:They're both great mics for dirty guitar, can you honestly say that you know which will work better for HIS particular application?

On the other hand, the 57 kills the 609 on snare, IMO.

I seen 1 for 229 and this one for 99. I couldn't tell the difference in the pictures.
eeldip said:ok. i just called them. even though the listing is for an "e609" and the mic pictured is the "e609" they are selling the "e609 silver".
Polaris20 said:Is it just me or is the 609 a lot more mid-rangey than the 57 is? I heard some clips where is was an identical amp/guitar/riff, and the 609 recording was horrible, whereas the 57 sounded fantastic. Maybe that's personal preference.
I went to my local Banjo Center and talked with a friend that works there that I go to for all of my stuff. I tried two for $150 but he couldn't, so $160 it was.tubedude said:Two silvers for $160? Where at?
I have a black one for sale, too, if you want a totally different flavor to add to those. It can be quite decent on some things.
