Hi, how's it going.

I was wondering if anyone could give me a few tips on playing a ska rhythm beat on my guitar.
I have been playing guitar for a while and this is one thing I still can't manage to get the hang of, no mater how hard i practice.

Please help me, also is there any guitar refrence refering to any playing techniqes on the net?

Thanks.
P.S I was thinking of geting a epiphone
G-310. Are they any good. I've played the 310 jnr and it sounded good.
Has anyone got one or could tell me about them(Just the normal one not the jnr)
Thanks.

Hey!! Yes, ska rhthym is hard at first. Just keep this in mind:
1. You are playing on the UPbeat. duh-DUH- duh-DUH-duh-DUH. Or 1 AND 2 AND 3 AND...etc.

2. No Distortion!!!

3. Play a down stroke and mute it with your fretting hand, then an upstroke while fretting the chord. It should be very very staccato, meaning no ringing out.

4. If ya like ska....try listening to REAL ska bands like Hepcat, the Scofflaws, Skavoovie and the Epitones, the Skatalites, and the Insteps, as opposed to trendy skapunk bands that will probably go Emo tomorrow.

Thanks.

thanks,

I do listen to a little of real ska
Ie. specials, toasters, hepcat.
But prefer the ska/punk more dive and energy to get you pumped.

thanks again
