Returned from the dead
ok so i want to split my guitar signal so i can send one signal to my amp and DI the other signal.

my choices are a DI box, a 1/4" Y splitter, and bypassing a v-amp pre amp section and using the stereo outs.

when using the DI box and Y splitter i get a really bad hum/buzz. my next thought would to use the stereo outs of the V-amp but there was a forum around here somewhere where people were talking about how the converters in these amp modelers were crap so, if i were to use the bypassed v-amp would it degrade my tone/signal any?
or is there a fix for the hum/buzz i get when using a DI box. its a passive DI, not sure if it matters.

The Y-splitter screws up the impedance level of the signal, hence the buzz/noise.

You need something like this. I'm not endorsing this product - its just what a quick search found.

yeah i figured it would be something like that...

but what about the DI box? it was DESIGNED for being a fix for exactly this problem yet im still getting the hum.....

everytime i do that it turns into a mini radio antenna :(

i guess ill blindly go with the v amp then

i bet that works great but 150-200 dollars isnt exactly pocket change lol. thanks for the suggestions though.
maybe ill get them some time in the future but for now ive gotta work with what i got.
