I will order a new microphone but i do not know which of these..
Now i have a sennheiser e825 but I'm not so pleased with the results..
I want one of these for my home recording studio..
For vocals, classic guitar, amp recording, podcasting..
Which do you suggest and why? thanks

I've never used any of those mics, but the B1 is a condenser and would most likely be clearer and more detailed than the dynamics. From the samples I've heard, and the reviews I've read, I would think it would give you better results than the dynamics listed, provided you have some room treatment. If not, you'll be better off with a dynamic mic because the condenser will pick up all the room reflections.

The B1 is a very "honest" mic, kinda what it hears is what you get so if there's any shortcomings in your voice, your guitar, your recording environment then you're going to hear them. It's not usually regarded as a vocal mic but just like any other mic with the right voice it will work well. I always have a pair set up, especially when we're "workshopping" (writing) on acoustics as I know they'll give an accurate representation of what we're playing. Positioned correctly, they are fine for amps.

The SM58 is a workhorse dynamic mic, fine on vocals and amps but I wouldn't bother with it on acoustic guitar.

The Audix.......never used one.

better is subjective.
They'll both do a decent job and like was mentioned, either/neither may suit your voice.
If you've got access, try em both out. One size does NOT fit all when it comes to vocal mics. Both will do a decent job on ac guitar.

Do you have a treated tracking room? LCD's tend to pick up the "undesirables" like room noise, bass waves bouncing around etc.

If ya can, try em both.

Its cheap enogh to get both of them...Id rather have an SM57 than the 58 if you can only get one mic.

EV Raven. Just got one(they are on sale). Mine sounds great and will handle large sound pressures.

If you can still find them, they were marked way down to $50 each from a few places.

I can't test the microphones..
My room isn't very noise.. Only the computer's noise..
I will record 1-1.5m far from it..

I can order only from Thomann..
Ev Raven there costs 109€

If someone have these mics please record a demo and upload it

Sennheiser e840 looks nice too..

(!!) Forgot to say that i haven't a preamp.. only fast track pro!
maybe i need an art tube mp?

Some preamps can be worse than nothing...I think you can get an audiobuddy for arround the same price...stay away from toob preamps.

IDK how it translates into american money...but most retailers have that EV Raven at $50.

100€ = 142.89$

Will SP B1 sure work very good with audio buddy?
I'm a student and i can't afford expensive items..
I don't want to spend my money on nothing..

If you buy a shure SM57 or 58 it will probably still be getting used all the time on your recordings 20 years from now. I would not expect the same from the B1

Why are you saying that? It sounds silly..
B1 is as good as shure sm57 i think..

Anyway i will not keep the B1 more than 3-4 years..
Sure i will buy an expensive one in the future..

Here is a clip over on RP of one of my Native American Flutes through the Raven. I used my Tascam 122L into the USB on my laptop. No other pre-amp. The only processing was a little reverb on top.
Flute clip, EV Raven mic

I'd suggest you maybe even try renting these microphones from a local music store and trying them out first before you buy. I'm sure renting 1 mic won't be over $10-$15 for 1 night or weekend. My local store even let me put the rental charge towards the purchase of my mic when I was on the hunt for a mic.

Or, some big stores have tons of mics for you to try in a nice sound booth too. Make multiple trips back and forth (if its' not far) if you can't decide.

I think that he is saying that you dont outgrow the SM57 and it is used in even the best studio in the capitol records building...the B1 is more of a very useful but a beginners LDC...you might end up trading for better soon enough.

SM58 and 57 are industry standard mics....those will never DIE....:)
I keep 1 of each of those mics in my home studio....great for snare drums for me. :D
