A nice attempt on the vocal narrative.

Some nice pads. string and otherwise. Passable tone on the electric guitar lead. As workable as the similar stuff on the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. Great Album BTW.

All "Judas" lacked was the appearance of conviction and belief in the spoken words. She got a vibe across (to me, anyway) as somone with fire in her eyes but not much connected upstairs.
Like that actress played the girlfriend of "Lord Garth" on a very famous Star Trek episode about the sci-fi vision of the treatment of mental illness in the future.

A very nice recording of it for sure.

But I have to compare this emotional rendition to that of Roy Kipp.

They found his sorry ass guilty of two counts of 1st degree murder. Despite his whining bullshit plea on the stand.

I'll admit the burglary charge was chicken shit.

"When you deny Jesus, what is your price?"

This one's on the arm.

You'll know, bright boy...

Could you just comment on the song next time, maybe???

Good job, Mixmkr...
You have quite a talent there, very well-constructed.

Hey VI, sorry if I offended you with my remarks. I suppose we could discuss religion somewhere else. I am a spirtual person, not a religious one. Organized religion turns me off in a BIG way. You can e-mail me at charvster@yahoo.com I would love to continue this conversation, Charva.

your songs

I wanted to listen, but it wouldn`t download right now. I am in no postition to comment on the mix yet but I will check them out as songs.

drstawl..
interesting response for sure...I think you cussed me out, but I'm not sure! ha!...anyway, I had to "decifer' your thoughts, and think I have a handle on them....maybe! "this ones on the arm"???
I'd be interested in thoughts on how to improve on the gtr sound. I have a POD and a Jstation, but my main setup is usually a cranking Ampeg V4 and a 57...usually outside for lack of reflections...but usually the 57 is smack up against the grill cloth....and sometimes a distant mic too....the setup for these leads, btw.

VI..
thanks for the kind words..

gec...
glad to see you over here...thanks alot for the listen..AIYO!!!

charva...
"organized religion"...I think next time, I'll play random notes for ya!!:p thanks again for your time/listen.

>drstawl.. interesting response for sure..

I try.

>.I think you cussed me out, but I'm not sure! ha!...

No way! I just threw in a comment to explain the relevance of your religious beliefs to my life. Emphasizing that I am not put off by such lyrical content.

>anyway, I had to "decifer' your thoughts, and think I have a handle on them....maybe! "this ones on the arm"???

That's NY sopranos ethno lingo for "on the house", "gratis", "no charge" etc.

>I'd be interested in thoughts on how to improve on the gtr sound. I have a POD and a Jstation, but my main setup is usually

I didn't mean to diss the tone, just to let you know I thought that could be achieved with some simple tools (POD, J-station etc.)

I don't have much direct experience experimenting with amps/cabinet micing since I have only an
apartment studio setup. I do it live- but then the musicians already have their amp tone nailed by the time I get there.

>smack up against the grill cloth

that sounds right, but where relative to the actual driver are you pointing that 57?

What they usually like is when the recording sounds like what they heard in the room.

Great song. Really heartfealt. It's one of those songs that makes ya think. Did you write the lyrics and music and play? Do you always do christian tunes?

thanks for your time and comments

Did you write the lyrics and music and play?
I helped with the lyrics...but the singer/narrator should get most of the credit....I'm the musician, engineer of the team.

Do you always do christian tunes?
not at all, but that has been a dominate theme lately. I dabble in some new age stuff...and of course, good 'ole rock and roll.

reverb-o-rama.. :) and my gosh.. did you forget you recorded music behind that? The narration is VERY loud, and sounds a bit strange, like when I fuck up and listen to both the original signal and what comes back from the computer at the same time.. (bet there's a word for that...).. ah... I knew there was a guitar lead in there... :)

Very dramatic.. but I missed the Miami Vice-thing.. :D
