Does anybody know where I can get a pickguard for an SG Supreme and an Epiphone SG special? The one little pickguard that Gibson sells will not clear the pickup housings, and if you cut it down, the cut runs right through the pre-drilled screw holes. I'm pretty sure that if I could find one, I'd get 2, as the 2 guitars seem to take the same pickguard. Gibson tech support was no help, and referred me to a major luthier supply store that does no custom work, but will be happy to sell me sheets of celluloid. I'm tearing up a high end axe here because the dickheads at Gibson won't build standard accessories for a high end axe! BTW, I checked with Epiphone also, and they were even less help. Thanks in advance. Also, I'm in New England, and I will ship these guitars to nobody!-Richie

Thanks!

Thanks a lot! I never found this site because I did my google search on "pickguard" instead of "pickguards". They're gonna make them for me. Yippee!-Richie

Why

Which SG Supreme do you have (color and year?)

I have the Emeraldburst one I think 2001....the one where it bursts from the middle out. The latest one, I believe changes color from one end to the other.

I personally bought this guitar partially because of it lacking the pickguard. I suppose it is just my personal preference. I like to TRY and preserve my guitar, but when I am rocking out on stage, and I put a huge gash in my guitar, it doesn't hurt me. All the little 'war wounds' on my gear just make me remember how much fun I was having. So little pick scratches are a minimal concern of mine.

I love my supreme....you?

Maybe you have the 2001 model with the P90's. They are all so nice.

Greg.
