I want to hook up an Acoustic Reference, liquid cooled Studio monitor series 1201 to a mac, how can I do that. On the back of the monitors there are two leads a positive and a negative, but what do I hook those up to?

There's nothing "Studio Monitor" about them except the name. They are "white van scam" speakers. Don't expect too much in the way of quality.

To use them you need a power amplifier, some speaker cables and whatever gets signal from the Mac headphone output to the amp. If you use a home stereo amp then a 1/8" TRS to dual RCA cable will probably do the trick.

You hook your interface outputs to an amplifier - You hook the amplifier's outputs to the speakers.

You might want to look into better speakers also...

I just hope we don't have to explain the difference between mixing and mastering. :spank:
