Hello

Using the live2 interface on the front will it be possible to connect 4 analoge channels using the stereo line 2 input together with the AUX 2 inputs to record 4 tracks simultaneously?

Best regards

No,

There is no more complexity on the board of the new Live! as there was on the old one. Therefore although there are more physical inputs, they will be switchable, ie use one set or the other.

If the SB Live! has two stereo inputs then you can record 4 mono tracks with simple Y-cables.

Hi Slackmaster2K

Are you sure its that simple? We are talking about A to D convert of 4 mono tracks to be recorded simoultanesly on 4 tracks. I have heard that the 2 stereo inputs will be mixed to 1 stereo signal before it reached the A/D converter, meaning no chance of 4 simultanesly tracks.

Thanks for your comments

Well, I suppose it would all depend on the card. If both ports are seperate then you can record 4 tracks...if they are merged then you can only record two tracks from 4 seperate instruments.

I would find it odd that the two ports would be mixed. You can split an analog signal but you can't mix two signals together without some sort of "crippled mixer" hardware on the sooundcard....which would be nasty. But I guess it is a cheap card.
