Roland VS-1824-Import Function

I owned this machine but wasnt to happy wit it so i stuck wit my VS-1680 which i am now upgrading to the VS-2000 but anways I had a question about this machine before I go wit da VS-2000. Is there anyway possible you can make the import function on the VS-1824 faster? LIke when i had da 1824 i loaded up an audio song that was about 3 and half minutes long and it almost took ova 3 minutes to load it. I could have done it quicker by recording in real time but that wastes alot of time sometimes. So any suggestions?

If you are talking about importing from an audio CD, the simple answer is- no. It *is* importing the data in real time. Just recording it from the CD will take the exact same amount of time, but you lose data as the CD is converted to an analog signal and then back into the digital domain by the Roland's convertors. As far as I know, the CD capture function in the VS2000 works exactly the same, although the VS2000 has a number of advantages over the 1824. Loading from a backup CD takes even longer.-Richie

I have gone with the VS-2000 but thanks for your info b/c in my research i found out that u can import .wav files via the USB function so that will do me real good. Thanks though for responding.
