Here's a short clip of something in the works. My daughter came to visit recently and left me alone with her Warwick Rock Bass for an afternoon. I got carried away it and played it as if it was a 6 string. I added a couple of keys, drums, and an opening guit track using a Larry Coryell Signature Cort with the intention of adding many more guitar parts to it. Overall, the tune is nearly 6 minutes in length, but this clip is only 1:30 min.

Rock Bass

I would appreciate all comments in regard to whether or not there's too much high end or low end.

Everything seemed panned more left in volume on the monitors, but on the headphones it balanced just right!!

The highs and lows sound good to me.

Lovin that Bass!!! This is definitely a showcase for the Bass!!! :D

Great little ditty you have here. I would like to hear it in full. :)

Man, that did sound right. The synhts made it too "easy listening" to my taste, but the bass sounded quite cool. :)

For a tune like this, the bass fits very well. It carries more than just the low end. It is an integral rhythm part, and has good space...nice tone. Nice vibe to it....Jazzy-Rock stuff. I think all fits well together. :D

Cool groove here
Nice bass and guitar sound
Sounds like the song could use more drum presence
Nice ;)

Hey guys,

Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment. I've been a little concerned lately that my ears have suffered from old age :D and abuse. I'm not so sure that I'm hearing what I think I'm hearing. I plan on having my ears checked out once I get a referral from my general practioner for a thorough check.

SnakeDog, eventually the drums will have more presence. ;)

Thanks again.....much appreciated!

Before I forget to say it....take care of your ears. Use ony quality Q-Tips! :p :D

I just clicked on my own thread to get the number of views increased. :D

I reckon the bass needs rock guitars to go with it. I had mental images of Hendrix when I listened to the intro. But it became a bit light after that in a jazz meets funk with cucumber sandwiches sort of polite vein.
The melody is very familiar but I couldn't put a name to it.
THe key are a bit cheesie - I'd have preferred a Farfisa sound or a B3. The line they played is good though.
Rock it up a bit I like the rhythm but the top need sgrunt.
