personally, I would rather have an in phase bleed in a mic at a louder volume than out of phase bleed in the mic. I also don't see how this would really help the situation. I can not imagine trying to record to a mix that was out of phase, it would drive me nuts. Also remember, running speakers out of phase does not change the actual SPL much, just how we perceive it with our ears and brain. In the end, running them out of phase would probably mean you will have to turn the speakers up so he/she can hear them better. Be careful to not damage your dirvers. You have to remember that thos little drivers are going to move just as much out of phase as in phase, but will seem like they are a much lower volume. This makes it very easy to exceed the maximum excursion on your LF elements, or lock up a diaphragm. On a side note, there have been many bands that have done studio stuff with both PA Mains and monitors running to give them more of a stage feeling.
