This is kind of a trick question because the A samples don't sound as good as the B samples on both tests.

I noticed. In the LesPaul thred, A had some serious intonation problems or was just flat out of tune, and B had a lot of fret buzz.

Amazing, I should have known better. For the last year I've used my Variax acoustic for scratch recording and sometimes for actual tracks cause setup is so quick, and I'm often blown away at how well it plays back, especially in a mix.
