Our drummers band came over and I got to put on 1 hat instead of the usual 3, this was done live with 8 channels except the vox were overdubbed, I built gobos for the guitars, the bass is direct and 4 mics on the kit, let me know what you think!

So you tracked all live? It's sounding pretty good, especially the bass and the snare. Just one little flaw: vocals seems to high and the solo need a pinch of reverb.

i disagree i think the vocals sit well. any reduction in volume and you're going to lose alot of the ends of those lines. maybe changing your compression settings or writing some volume automation would help to even out the vocal performance. but on a whole they aren't too loud.

try putting a 1/4 or 1/8th note stereo rhythmic delay with the top rolled off on the guitar solo rather than more rev. separate left and right delay channels by 20 msec.

Thanks for the input so far. I didn't work much on the efx on the solo, I'll try some delay next time. As far as vox, I think they are what carry this song IMO so I left them pretty loud in the mix. I'm also wondering about if the sounds are good and if there are any phase issues etc that anyone can hear. This is basically a recorded practice and I'd like to do the same with our band
