Hey guys.
Just to start off I will show what equipment I am using.
M-audio Fast Track
Perception 120 mic
I am a complete newbie when it comes to recording so be gentle. Previously I used garageband to record
but I heard that reaper was a lot better in terms of what you can do with it.
When recording with Garageband, my Fast Track mic input knob would be at the 3 o'clock position (Nearly full) and this would
be enough so that when I play my acoustic guitar through the mic, there would be no clipping. In reaper however I am at the 9 o'clock position (1 quarter way) and it still says it is clipping even though I can barely hear it through my headphones.
My second problem is latency, I have used midi drums for a song and when I play my acoustic over it, it is about half a second out.
I hope I have given enough information for someone to help me
Cheers!
