Rack distortion....

Hey all-
I'm looking into either a preamp or effects processor for my rig to provide me with some killer distortion. I'm leaning right now to finding a Rocktron Voodu Valve, but I was going to see if anyone has some other ideas. I play hardcore/metalcore, so it needs to be brutal.... I'm just using my amp distortion right now(Ampeg VL1002), which is pretty kick ass, but it could be better.

P.S. Keep it fairly cheap.....

The Sansamp PSA-1 comes to mind. Rack mounted Pre with a wide selection of tone choices. If you like Marshall tube distortion this box will get ya close. If ya want to get cheaper, how bout the Boss Metal Zone pedal. Its not real versital but it should get the tone your looking for.

Yeah, done the Metal Zone thing, my amp gives a better sound than that thing, but I'll check out the sansamp, I'm not familiar with it...
