Thinking about purchasing Sonar and a Roland s124 with the computer interface. Wondering about how Sonar 3 deals with loops.
Right now I program my drums by using "one shot" drum loops. Essentially using Acid Pro like a drum machine, only far more intense. I like how I can zoom the grid in and out so I can get very detailed and elaborite. This way I get the exact drum beats I'm looking for and it sounds much more real than any drum machine I've spent time with.
The Sonar litterature I've read claims you can do similar stuff with loops, but the demo doesn't seem to have a way to program loops in this much detail. At best I get a one measure grid I can't zoom in on. Can Sonar do this sort of thing? And if so, can someone briefly explain how they do elaborite loops? Just wondering if this app is right for me or not before I spend a bunch of money....
Thanks,
Daff
