hello everyone! i know this is a dead horse around here, but i wanted to try to get some info and feedback about what i need to do to get a studio setup.
my goal is to be able to record multiple tracks at once into my laptop into my recording software (whatever that might be, probably sonar) and having them record as separate tracks in the software.
here's what i'm working with...
dell inspiron 866mhz pentium 3 laptop, 320mb ram, 20gb hd
a couple mics (a peavey mic and an sm58)
8ch behringer mixer (4 mono/xlr channels and 2 stereo channels)
v-amp2 amp modeler
what i'd like to do is get a boss dr-5 and build backing tracks on it and then MIDI it into the computer via some sort of usb/midi interface along with the guitar into the v-amp (also connected via MIDI) while laying down a vocal track with all of these being captured in the computer as separate tracks.
how can i hook this up to get what i want?? what else do i need to add?
i hope this all makes sense. basically what i'm wondering is if i can do this and, if so, how.
thanks for suffering through what has to be a repeat of a post somewhere...
