Unpossible!

IMHO I feel like my bass drum cuts through the mix better because it has more attack. i.e. snap, click, pop etc...
I got it by adding 8k to it and compressing it.
when you say you doubled it...did you keep them in mono or pan them both hard?
known as "Big Mono".

What are you listening to the mixes on?
I'm really trying to understand what your saying (since the whole point of this is to learn). Compression REMOVES attack I thought, so you could increase the volume without clipping. I like a real HARD HITTING bass for this kind of music, so I have a TON of attack in the bass, I don't see how there could be any more than I have.
Now, you have more of the "click" sound coming through in your mix, and without any sub-bass, your drums cut through better, but on a full-sound system, mine hit way harder, and cut thru better IMHO.
Anyway, just to be clear, I am just trying to understand your critique.
As far as the guitar sound, you are right. I listened to it in my truck on the way to work, and they are quite a bit thin sounding. I am going to remix with them "fattened" up.
Thanks,
