Public Mix Contest #11 !!!!!!

The tracks are really good, and $5 is cheap.... It's great to have something to do in between PMCs!!

just a thought... for PMC12 if we want to have all of the songs in one place, I'll be glad to host the mix collection as an album on my page at music2v.com. forumites can post their mix on HR or make it available somehow, PM me that it's their latest and I'll post it on my site. this way all of the latest mix clips are in one place.

A few comments on results:

- It's pretty much a dead heat, statistically speaking, from #7 through #23. If we'd had a third judge, any of those positions could have easily been swapped. So all y'all in the middle, consider yourself tied.

- I listened to everybody's once, then the top 12 or 13 again, and the top 5 a third time. This kind of reiterates the first point: I'm pretty comfortable with my top ten, but if I scored you #12 or #16 it really isn't any different.

- ds21 was the unanimous winner on both sheets. farview had Sonixx #2 and I had ya #3. I had Kainz for #2, but farview was much less enamored DonF was strong on both sheets.

- You guys at the bottom, have a hard look at your monitoring setup (gear, but especially room). I don't know what else to say. The tracking here was really good, a "throw up the faders" mono mix probably would score a 3

EDIT: Oh by the way, I thought Chris did score the entries? He was willing to announce the results (if we would have wanted) without hearing your scores (you were on the vacation). Overall opinion here was to wait you. But I'm a bit puzzled, he didn't subit them to you mshilarious?

I would like to know, what is the difference between TOTAL SCORE and OVERALL RATING.

The total score is all the numbers in the different catagories added up. The overall rating is all those numbers averaged.

Wow! 5th, I'm totally shocked. I first opened up the results and scrolled straight to the bottom half to find my name and was like, "damn I knew it wasn't great, but I would have thought I'd at least make the top 32"
Lots of really good mixes (from what I remember) so like I said I'm shocked.
Thanks to everyone who put this up, I'll admit I was getting a little antsy to see the results, but in the end the experience was well worth it.

No, I don't have his ratings. I thought he said he had a top ten list, but without category scores. I couldn't have used that to average into the other two score sheets.

I'll do a new overall score sheet if he submits scores, but the "official" scores should remain what I just published.

But seriously, I love doing these things, when I get the chance and hearing all the different variations, I guess my half finished monitors aren't that bad after all. And I would like to thank xfinsterx and the others for puting up the prizes, I actually forgot that there were prizes for this one, and the judges for putting their time and effort into this, I know we all Really appreciate it!

lol This was my lowest score yet and the first mix I did with my new monitors
Since they were brand new to me when the contest was wrapping up, I intentionally listened to my mix only on them and didn't compare on other systems... I was wanting to see how they translated to the judges...

Now I know...

I normally charge $5 per download or $8 per mailed CD. I gotta pay for bandwidth and studio time somehow. The tracks are high quality, recorded in a pro studio by me. I'd love to take you up on that but I just moved in to my new house and wouldn't want to tie up one of the 10 downloads and end up not mixing it. Thanks for the offer though

If you go to the full results, one of the columns is the post number that the entree was submitted. Some of the links are probably broken by now, but I bet you can still listen to some of them
