Public Mix Contest #11 !!!!!!

Perfect.... less competition for PMC12!!! My odds just improved exponentially!!! :D :D :D
 
Hopefully i will get to particapate in 12 too.

These are alot of fun when i have some time on my hands. August looks like im going to be booked full though. Have alot of variety of things coming in which should be fun.

Im doing a big band with a beautiful female singer that i might be able to throw up for say MC13 or something. Should be a different style of music and a different experience for everyone. Except the track count might run kinda high. Talkin drums, bass, piano, trumpets, trombones, saxes, guitars, and jazz vox. Dont know about the other things. Maybe flute and clarinet i dunno. Anyway it might be something new and different for the mix contests.

i'd definitely be interested in mixing it! never had a chance to mix a big band and would love to

Hopefully i can snag a song. Its a old client of mine doing the project and she is a good friend of mine. She probably wouldnt mind putting her tracks out. But no guarantee until i actually get permission.

Ive got alot of cool projects coming in. Everything from Hardcore, Jazz, Grunge Metal, ska, orchestra peices, cool string ensembles. Should be a pretty cool month. Hopefully i can snag a few for some Mix contests.

But again i dont own the rights so no guarantee.

danny, that'd be da bomb. if not mc13 and you just wanna hear someone else's take on something like that, i'm sure i speak for a number of us in saying "i'm interested in giving it a spin". if possible, of course. ;)

now that my recording space (read: the part of the basement formerly known as mine) has been overrun with furniture and "stuff" displaced from the baby's room, i don't get to record much other than myself these days (for now, i keep telling myself), so anything that's different than one of my tunes that i can get my hands on to mix, i'd love to give a go on. so in the meantime til i can get my space back, i can't wait for PMC12. :D :p

Im the new resident rock dude, since the owner does mostly jazz n stuff.

No doubt that these will be some of the finest raw tracks we have mixed, in a PMC, in terms of fidelity.

Hmmm... I wonder which PMC wil get their contest results out first??? PMC11 or PMC12.... Looks like a toss up!!! :eek:

Didn't mshilarious say he would be traveling this month? He may not be able to post results for some time.

Xfinsterx, perhaps you could give us a hint or post some quickie results in the mean time. Have you heard from him?

No offense but, this is beginning to get rather frustrating.

Agreed!!!!!! I mean I know I'm nowhere in the top 10 and don't really care where I ended up. But the knowledge of who IS in the top 10 would be something we newbie's could use as a meter of sorts. You know, listen to those mixes and try to get ours to the same level and LEARN how they did things.
 
Mshil and Farview have done thier individual scoring.

Just have to wait for Mshil to get back to see what happens next.

I have no idea how thier scores read.

I do however know who i would pick as the winner. :D

Funny, but the contest build-up here sounds like a meticulously planned marketing campaign, except of course for the fact that there's no money involved.... :)

So, doubly ironically, it's all the more interesting because it's real... (no adequate smilie available here)

No matter how sophisticated the corporate tracking of BBS and newsgroups messaging ever gets it will never understand things like this.
