Public Mix #10!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Disposable, thanks for the comments, I took this as an opportunity to expirement with my new EMU Proteus X, I took the vocal track and put it into Proteus and used the mod wheel to add stereo delay and chorus, sort of "playing" the effect, just wanted to see if the effects that come with the Proteus are any good.

P.S. I really like the pad you used, what synths do you have? good mix.
 
That pad (also a bit of experimenting) was Sonik Synth 2.
Just the Free version.
I used the Don't Cry Lite preset and messed with the reverb/delay settings.
I then added a bit more reverb to spread it a bit more.
I used the original "Violins" midi part on the left (mostly)
And transposed it an octave up for the right side.

I use a lot of free synths,
I originally also had FreeAlpha on this (sort of a flutey type sound)
But it didn't want to play nice with me...

I think you did great "playing" the effects...
It's always fun to experiment isn't it?
 
Yeah I have Crystal as well, but don't often use it.
I prefer Ugo Motion and Texture for ambience usually...

I was enjoying the efx on the vox throughout ds21.

Sounds like your new toy is working out pretty good.

'twas a fairly easy mix IMO,
I didn't even touch the dumbek/congas or the bass.

A bit of verb on the timbales
Slight compression, delay and verb on the vocals.

I dup'd the guitars 3 times I think.
One with "Phoneline" EQ, one with a "Bass Only" EQ
And the other flat EQ (I think)
Other slight variations in each (delay and reverb settings)

Can you tell I put a lot of delay and verb on the tambourine? Haha.

Really fun song to mix. And great song altogether.
I really enjoyed it. Thanks for offering this one as PMC10. :D

Yeah thanks for the offer man, but i think im gonna put this violin/drums/bass/guitar song up that i recorded a while back.
You ever heard of a band called Deadweight?

If not look em up on google.

I just recorded the violin players side project, so that might be PMC11.

It's probably best that I don't commit to putting anything up...
I rarely have anything new recorded,
And at this point my "studio" is torn down.

Not that anything good ever comes out of it anyways... Haha.

I often record my whole band "live" with one mic. hehe.

Dang, Disposable! That is an awesome song.... So awesome in fact you made me come out of hiding to make a mix. LOL I played it for my sister and she said she wants you to make more songs like that and put them on a CD. ;)

I timed myself for this mix, because I'm trying to get quicker. So this clocked in at 2 hours and 45 minutes of actual "work" time as I was interupted a couple times during the mix. lol

heh. just spent a couple of hours on this mix with out the midi file.

wish i had that.

so i got it all ready, took alot of timeo n it. Then wheni got here i realized it was 48/24 and my version is pitched different and slower.

Crap.

Should have checked that.
