Problem with Tascam 388 - Track 8 won´t print

Hey there, any suggestions on fixing a printing problem with a Tascam 388? I bought one recently via ebay, using RMG LPR35 tape and everything seems to work fine except I can´t get anything to print on track 8 and only track 8. When recording I´m getting plenty of signal, but I when I hit playback there´s absolutely nothing there. I´m new to this forum, any help would be greatly appreciated!

I never jacked with it but there is a switch on the back that has something to do with track 8 and disabling something for using that track for SMPTE striping. Check the position of that switch.
