ever since i installed reason, one of my moms programs (quickbooks) stopped working. when you'd try to open it, a message would come up that said i need IE6 or later to use quickbooks... but i have IE6, so something was fishy. so i called quickbooks and they couldn't help because they are morons, so i had to call HP, and they made me do a system restore that restored windows to like october 7th, right before reason was installed.

my own personal computer is out of commission right now due to static electricity, so this computer is all i have to work with. i just bought a new midi controller and of course i'd like to play with it...

so, do any of you know what the problem could be?

may be a dumb idea but create your own user profile on there and install there some programs ask if it will be used for all users and select no. Hopefully if i'm way off track someone will step in and say so.

No you're on track and I think that's the best way to go on that route.

that was an excellent idea HI

yeah, sometimes if a program confilicts you can partition your harddrive for specific things. you can create harddrive E and allocate 10 gigs for only video editing and viewing software, harddrive F with 10 gigs for music editing and playing software..... you can also try reinstalling programs that act buggy after a rescent install because it may just be that one particular driver was overtaken by the new program. like mentioned above creating your own user profile would be a good idea, just roll the system back to before you installed reason and the other program should work. create your own profile. you may have to reinstall all your programs under your profile.
