Hello,
I recently moved my recording studio to a 1.25Ghz PowerBook G4 and OSX, bought Cubase SX 2.0 and got the latest drivers for the Tascam US-428. I started recording some keyboards and guitar, the levels were under 0.0 db but I got some crackels and digital noises in the tracks. Specialy when recording fat sounds like bass. I tried lowering the input signal but I still got the noises. Sounds like cliping, but I am sure it isn't.
I'm recording 24bit 48,000Mhz. Is it Cubase? Or the US-428? Maybe OSX?
Please give me some advise, I'm loosing my excitement for digital recording.
Also, what do you have to consider to optimize your system for digital recording?
