junplugged said:I really like the colored double sided velcro strips, but they are a rip off, way too expensive for a little wire tie. I tried to get them wholesale, but I got no response. I think the stuf also comes in large spools it also has a slot on the end so it can stay on one end of the cable. I found them in Staples and Radio shack used to have them. they priced themseleves out of the market maybe. Anyon have a good supplier of this stuff?
Velvet Elvis said:How do you get your brother labels to stick? I have the same label printer, but after a few days they start to unwrap (even on clean clean cables)... I've had to resort to putting clear shrink tubing over the label after I affix it.
frederic said:I put the label on lengthwise, then snip of a section of packing tape and wrap it. Packing tape sticks to itself very well.

Where did you buy them? A music equipment store, or a data networking company? They will be much less costly from the latter... Ortronics is the brand I use. I pick up wads of them when I see them on ebay in "bundles".

Sometimes, if you sneak up real quiet and use night vision goggles, you can actually see them mating.
That's why I don't even bother.
Track Rat said:workshed, you've done a very neat job of it but looking at those pics reminds me of why I don't use tie straps. When they're trimmed they always leave that sharp end sticking out. Many is the time I've sliced the hell out of my hands and forearms on those. That's the main reason I tie alll my lines with wax rope. But it does look neat.![]()
frederic said:The trick to wire ties is how you cut them. Don't just snip the end off. Pull it slightly to just before it "clicks" at the next tightest spot, then snip. Then the sharp part will spring back inside the head.
no scrapes or bandaids!
