Pop wothout the formula......new song

Against five string basses as a matter of principle....tsk tsk....I'm not sure if I want to know what that principle is.

OK, I'm listening to the song now. I think it's nice, but I miss a hook, a cool chorus or something else that turns the song around. It goes on and on and on without going anywhere. I've other songs by you in which this procedure had an interesting effect but in this song....no, sir....I don't like it.

Anyway, I'll play the basspart for you (if you want), but I won't use my low B-string OK? Not because it's against some kind of principle, but because I don't see a need for it in a song like this.

Gee, suddenly I do wanna know what your principle is...

Pedullist dont' worry I don't expect everyone to get it that way, I mostly make this stuff kinda as poetry to some music..it's not the kind of stuff everyone can dig. I am against 5 string bass because it looks gay as hell. I have never needed an extra string so I just say it's dumb...that's me. I'm sure it's your religion and stuff but I don't even consider myself a bass player so forget about what the hell I think.

I worked on the damn thing all day and really took steps back and forward. I wasn't going to post is as the bass sounds like crap but I guess I'll give ya a few things to talk shit about for now.

I know Chris will have a stroke if he doesn't find out what's going on.

I don't know if there's anything I can add to what's been said (more vox, more low end - or *some* -, etc). BUT-

Damn nice sounding guitars. And overall good vibe. This could easily have been a pumped up, generically "heavy" tune, and I like the steady stubborn sort of "who gives a shit" chugging of the guitars and the sort of refusal on the part of the singer to get too worked up about the whole damn thing...

I dug it.

Hey thanks guys, there's a second session up with more low end and less distant vocals. Check it out, it will be changing a few times tomorrow.

It's not my 'religion', btw...I just like to have 'the option'. And about principles in general: they suck. Period. (hell, I might even try to make a tune with an autotuner sometime.... )

Btw, session player Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel, Yes) owns a 3 string (E - A - D)....because he never needed a g string, and on top of that: G-STRINGS ARE FOR STRIPPERS!
