Hello again, Home recordists! Happy New Year!

My 3rd and most ambitious tune so far - Edge Of The World - is now out. I've got a killer new keyboardist from Argentina, and he'll be joining me for several other songs coming up!

I'd appreciate any feedback on the mix, it was a tough one! Admittedly I didn't do all the work here. I got it to a certain point, and got help from a pro.

Most of this song actually goes back to 2005. It took me 20 years to write the acoustic bridge here that finally felt right. Yeah, that's some serious brewage on this one. As before, I recorded all the guitars and vocals in my car, during lunchtime at work.

So....enjoy!

A recording studio in your car?? Wowo respect! Wish I'd thought of that
Mix is dense but pretty well balanced and nicely upfront, kudos
Those damn acoustic bridges.. aren't they always a bitch :D
Tight performances, nice track

Thanks! It was the only way I had ANY time to record, so I made it work. My parts were recorded in the car (guitar/vocals). Later, the bass, drums and keys were all recorded remotely.

Great job, I really enjoyed that. The bridge was awesome, so was the solo. all in all, most excellent!

How did you do that? A modeler or something? How was the bass and keyboards recorded? And the drums sound programed - but they also sound like an acoustic kit - was it sample dropped?

I recorded the guitar direct in (dry), with Thermionik guitar amp plugin on the track so I could hear it wet while recording.

During mixdown, I re-amped the dry guitar tracks through my Fractal Audio Axe-FX2XL to fine tune the tone. I still used some Thermionik during the mixdown, so both.

After the final recording of vocals and guitars were done, I had the drums done in Sweden by a session drummer (acoustic drums), although I did replace the kick and snare with samples with Steven Slate Trigger.

Then had bass done remotely by my long-time collaborator, and the keys done remotely also (Argentina).

Thanks for the questions!
