POLL, how much would you pay...for Masters

I want to start a poll. To discuss what people in this community feel would be a fair price to pay for commercially released master tapes of The Beatles, in either Digital Hi-Resolution, or any other High Quality format. If say you could order all the tracks for a particular song. And I mean all tracks, reduced and separated as best possible. NOT reduction mixes like people have been getting in my other post.
Lets forget for the sake of discussion that they will probably NEVER be offered like I am talking about. I personally say I would be willing to pay about 100 bucks for 1 song. Some people may say thats way too much. Others will say thats too cheap. So vote then discuss. Would you pay 100.00 US dollars for 1 song worth of masters?

Too much. I might pay $100 for certain whole records, but not for one song. It'd be great to get some other bands tracks as well. Fun stuff and insightful.

Can I change my vote? After thinking about it I probably would pay up to a hundred bucks, if I had the money. It would be hard pickings though for that price. I'd probably pay that for the 8 tracks of Dear Prudence, Martha My Dear and Here Comes the Sun, amongst many others.

Yeah,
I dont know if that too much or too little. But considering that it would be a rare thing. No one does it anyway. What would it be worth to YOU to be able to say, I want the tracks for THAT song and well, they want 100 bucks for them. Say theoretically that there was NO WAY to transfer them or share them with unpaying customers. That somehow the industry had come up with a foolproof way to make it so they cant be copied or given away. You have to buy them if you want them. And maybe had to sign an agreement that you would NEVER sell them for profit or the mixes that you made.
Would you consider paying about a 100 per song...even for another artist, or your favorite artist???
For me, I would. The Beatles and their music is THE REASON I like to do what I do. So it would be well worth it if I could remix my own version of Strawberry Fields or I am the Walrus or Penny Lane...

Please don't take this in the wrong way, but $100 isn't really what I'd call a serious offer. That's like £50, which in the UK, is pretty much an impulse purchase. Hell, you can't buy a blank 1" tape for that, let alone a copy of something as famous as a song by the Beatles

By way of comparison, I did actually see an 8-track master from one of the BeeGees about four years ago. Among the songs it contained (about 3) was one which didn't seem to have been released. The seller had dumped it to ADAT and was selling the original on ebay. Their asking price was about £800, or $1600.

So do we get every take including those that were later combined during the reduction / bouncing processes along the way?

I would pay £150.00 for my ten favourite Beatles songs if the above applied!

JP, I guess I see your point on the argument that you can barely get a reel of tape for that. But we'll say Digital Files, for the sake of this argument. And Yes ALL the files reduced to individual tracks as best is possible. Remember there were times when they did record certain instruments on the same track so there probably is no way to seperate them.
