hi, i just recently started recording in my computer, at first i plugged my washburn guitar through a korgax100g directly to the mic of my soundcard, sounded horrible and i knew it could be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better, so i bought a POD2, very cheap i may add and it improved the sound, its more fuller and less muddy (please define muddy by the way, im kinda confused, i think its kindof a dirty bassy thing) moving on, i still think it could be better so here are my options to make sound better:

1. buy new pickups for my guitar (coz i know my guitar is not all that)
2. buy a tascam 144 to further improve recording

i know i should probably do both but my question is what should i do first?

Before you do either of those you need to invest in a new soundcard and remove the old one.

Here's a link to a good one - it connects via USB and has guitar-oriented software packaged with it.

couldnt i just use the tascam then? it too connects to the usb right?

If you've got the model number right that was Tascam's first cassette 4 track and it was around WAY before USB ports.

You'd probably invest $100 in changing the pickups on your guitar and that's what the USB interface costs...
