bassicly im having alot of trouble with the bass in my mixes... im using the digi002rack, and plugging directly into the digi just sucks ass really, its.... weak. i've tryed micing it, but it always comes up to muddy.

now my question is - About 2 years ago or so i went to a local studio , and he had plugged my current head at the time ( hartkee 3500 ) directly into his system ..., the tone came out awsome in my opnion, good presence , all that good stuff.

anyway - right now i have an Ampeg B2R bass head, would it be safe / good for me to plug in to the digi 002 ? does it in a way make my bass head a pre amp ????????

and what out would you recommend to use to plug in the the 002 ? theres an effects loop out, and a balanced out xlr port i, and preamp out ,and of course the speaker out puts, but i dont think i wanna pump 350 watts in to the digi002 :D

The B2R has the XLR preamp out...use that. Its not the greatest sounding, but it should be better than plugging directly into the Digi. Alternately, you could look into getting an used SansAmp Bass Driver and just using that. It doubles as a great sounding overdrive stompbox for your bass. I used to run it in the effects loop of my B2R and it sounded great, especially live.
