Hey -

listened to the first one, and I think you need to do something about that piano. It sounds like a robot playing it. No feel to it at all. Kinda strange actually. Anyway, just trying to help.....

Good luck. :D

Thats Cool - I Cna Git It Wit More Feelin . . . If The "pattern" Or The Melody Itself Has Enough Charisma To Keep At It . . . If The Melody Sucks, Theres No Point To How Much Feelin U Put In It . . . Lol - But True Just The Same

I Am Not.....

Definitely a unique rhythm you have on the keyboard. There are few times when the little "background" riffs could be louder. But that's just my choice. I can tell you've put some work into the mix here, with varying parts coming up in the mix depending on the section. Good job there. Nice Arranging.

Sometimes when the bass comes up it seems a little loud - again just my choice. It would rock the dance floor though.

This is the first HIP HOP without vocals that I've heard (but I have limited experience). I would classify this as more "progressive dance maybe.

The first one was really nice and chilled but the sounds were a little computerised and this made it sound somewhat cheesy in parts. Might be worth trying to record some of your own sounds or playing parts of it live.

The second track had loads of really nice little sounds throughout and great attention to detail but it just felt very repetitive.

Get me Out - as mentioned the piano chording needs some swing.
There's a mile between the tonality of the hi hat & bass drum but nothing holding the sonic middle ground - a vocal would occupy that space really well.
Good work so far.

thanks for all the feedback - im tryin to use these two as my "starters" as i work with a piano teacher to helpme boost my playing skills - that way i can definitely improve teh "feel" and teh "spirit" of what i play/produce. . .

Listening now:

1. get me out.
* echo piano remarks made...
* nice beat...very different, but solid

2. I am Not.
* huge sound...very nice. Sort of an "Armageddon" like feel to it...
* love the change around the 1 min mark...nice job
* solid groove again sir!

3. Long Days...
* Rapping! Finally...i've been dying to hear some flow over these...Pretty decent flow to your voice. I like the parts where you're rapping in harmony "... got kicked out my momma's house..." nice effect there.
* Nice groove, great backing cuts - I'm digging the old sounding guitar panned right. very dreamy and moody feel to those.
* nice break down at 3:15...
* great job on this Gully...

4. Sprung
* good harmonies...very nice
* ok...something missing on this one...when it kicks in after the harmony...i'm missing more kick. I'm not a fan of the "clap" instead of a snare here...i'd like to hear a snare. but that's just my opinion.
* heh...talk box style...nice. Very nice melody lines here, and the harmonies are tight.
* nice job again here.

5. Life on Rap
* nice intro...
* not a fan of what's going on with the vox here. I can hear too much of the room. Good flow though...

all for now...need to get to work. Nice work Gully. I liked a lot of what I heard, Long Days being my favorite.

Cholo
