Please, I need help......finishing home studio.

I need help on figuring out what gear I'm goin to need to complete my home studio. I just bought a Mackie powered mixer and a VS 880EX. I already have a shure sm58 and a sm57 mic. I also have 2 Soldano heads, a Gallien Krueger Bass head and a Boss GT-3. I'm probably going to mic the amps for guitar and bass. I want to be able to link the VS 880ex to my computer. I have a PII400 mhz, 128 meg ram, 13.2 gig HD, external iomega cd-r, sound blaster audioPCI 64D sound card. I know I'm going to need software to link the VS880ex to my PC, some studios speakers, headphones but I'm not sure what else I'm goin to need. Will I have to get a whole rack of compressors, effects, etc..? Do I have to upgrade my soundcard in my computer? Also, which software do you recommend I use? I am extremely new to home recording and would greatly appreciate any advice on this subject.

Hey SWG, it is kind of frowned upon on this BBS to cross post (post the same thing in many forums) although we usually don't lynch mob members on their first offense.... :)

SWG... seems like you are set enough for starting purposes. Power up, hit record. You have what you need to lay down several tracks and make a song. Explore and see. The other gear you want or need will no doubt be a direct result of what you want or don't want from the currant setup
