Hopefully good news for me.....after my bug attack I lost all my files on the first drive. Good thing is that all of my music file's audio data was saved in my second drive, (along with the Sonar 2XL program). All the files on the second drive survived.

Problem is that in the first drive, (the attacked drive), I stored the project file on my Desktop, rather than in the project file folder in Cakewalk. Is there any way that I could restore? All of the info is there.....can anyone help?:(

Keep Dreamin'...
If the project files are erased, then there's nothing you can do to recover 'em unless you use loss data recover apps. But if this doesn't work, then you must use Cakewalk Audio Finder, find every orphaned wave data (wave data that are not associated to any project) and sequence the data again in your new installed system... I know it would be pain in the ass, but that's the only way I knew safe & doable...

:(

The only other thing you can do is import the audio data as .wav files (as opposed to using the audio finder), but basically, without the project files, you've lost all information as to how those files are related to one another. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that James Argo is dead on.

Thanks Guys.....

Yep....tried it and I saved one song at it's earlier stages and the other is doomed with Cakewalk Audio Finder. Importing is tedious but the only way out.

Thanks anyway guys! :(

...well, sorry about your projects. Just make sure from now on, you make a backup every often regularly. Back up to your other HD or CD will save your days recovering loosing/damaged data... It's your worth project. Your songs deserve backup... ;)
