Oh, and I actually tried because this is one of the funnier thread titles I've seen in awhile, lol.

Yikes...... doesn't work for me..... polyrhythms may work in jazz and fusion, but not with commonly known sampled phrases shifted off-time over a straight beat.

Very hard to listen to IMO.........

I listened to 'Songs of Freedom' and 'Deeper'.

Well, it's different. Probably liked deeper better - has a creepy, empty feeling to it - there's a lot of bottom end, and stuff at the top but nothing in the middle, which is cool for that song.

don't think it works so well for the Redemption song remix. That synth and drum part kinda got on my wick by about halfway through the song. maybe add a bit more variation to the beats, and shorten the mix?

it's a good start though, man. really different to a lot of stff you hear nowadays. :)

thanks, maybe a few other people will spare a little time. Songs of freedom was done with magix and henceforth a loooong time ago. just out of curiosity, what are polyrhythms? im not saying ur wrong, but im just uninformed.

A polyrhythm is where two or more rhythms are played on top of each other. It's similar to syncopation but a little stricter in that syncopation is often just the odd measure here and there, and for a polyrhythm you have to establish two independent rhythms which means several consecutive measures.

An example off the top of my head is Yes' "Long Distance Runaround" which has a 5/8 polyrhythmic beat on top of 4/4 during the verses, then switches to syncopation (the second beat gets irregular) during the chorus.

thanks for explaining polyrhythms. im not sure where i used them, but i haven't listened to the mix 4 bout a week. anyways, i thought it came out good, thank u to everybody who posted, and as soon as this next track is mixed, it will also appear in the clinic.

I really don't think these tracks were intended to be polyrhythmic. Nor do I think they sound good. In fact, I cannot bear to listen to more than 60 seconds of any song.

Not polyrhythmic - Offbeat.

Sorry.

Deeper: gets boring pretty soon. I can hear that you like weird stuff. That's ok, but you still gotta keep me interested throughout the song.

Songs of freedom: same thing. The synth bassline is really off dude. The timing is good, but the notes, really dissonant.
