Ok, I'm back again, with another song. Please tell me what I kind of improvement I can do. (Please don't mind the lyrics, just listen for quality [And no, its not me rapping]). Thanks in advance!

I have included the Full Song, and just the acapella.

Full Song

Acapella

The vocals sound a little too "up front" or "on-top of the mix" for my taste. Perhaps a little compression and a hint of reverb would make it sit a little better. It also sounds like both the lead and background vocalist (especially) were too close to the mics, as there are some plosives. If you are not using a good pop filter, get one.

The backing track sounds fine.

Thanks for responding, I just have a few questions.

The vocals sound a little too "up front" or "on-top of the mix" for my taste.

As in too loud?

Perhaps a little compression and a hint of reverb would make it sit a little better.

Compression on the final WAV, or compression for each of the vocal tracks? I tried putting some reverb, as you could probably tell from the Acapella, but do I need to add a little more?

It also sounds like both the lead and background vocalist (especially) were too close to the mics, as there are some plosives. If you are not using a good pop filter, get one.

I have a good pop filter, but maybe I should tell the people to stay back a couple of inches.

The backing track sounds fine.
When you say this, are you talking about the "doubles"?

Once again, thanks for the reply, but please mind me as I am still sort of a newb.

Yes, they are too loud. But, also, the vocals don't blend into the song well. It's kind of hard to describe. It is almost like singing/rapping over a karaoke track. The vocals just don't seem like they are "part" of the tune. They just sit on top.

Compression on the individual vocal tracks will perhaps help them "sit" within the mix of the song a little better. Also, adding a bit of compression and a slight reverb to the whole mix can make the song gel a little better. It takes a bit of trial-and-error to find what works.

Yeah, definitely try it out.

I was refering to the beats/backing music. It sounds pretty good. Just the vocal parts need to be tweaked a bit. Good luck.

Alright then, Thanks for the help, I appreciate it alot! I will definitely try what you've said! :D

I agree with Scrubs. The vocal are way too loud or the music is way too soft.

By the way, does yo moma know you got grenades in da crib?

If you don't know what I'm talking about then it's not going to be funny. I was just going by what the lyrics said.

Oh ok, as stated before, I'm not the one rapping. But I see what you mean.
