I have recorded a song I hope you will evaluate. I made the sountrack and then recorded the vocal. It is a gospel coversong I plan to release as part of a CD as soon as I get the copyrights covered. Just go to my webpage and click on the link for Faithful Father. pages.prodigy.net/ltucker45

There's something wrong with your mp3 conversion. It sounds as though you took a 64kbps .wma file and re-converted it to a 320kbps .mp3. What's up with that? An mp3 at that high bitrate ought to sound crystal clear.

Anyway, allowing for the poor encoding, I'll comment on the sounds. The synth strings at the beginning shout "cheesy music ahead!" The piano is a bit better, and warms things up considerably. If I were you, I would try to find a better string sound, and maybe get an acoustic guitar and a real bass on this track to make it sound less synthetic, and thus to better complement the outstanding vocal performance.

I would very much like to hear this again, with the encoding problem fixed.

I didnt think this was bad.
I mean, its definetly not my style pref. but the recording in and of its self seemed decent to me.

Id agree with Don on the "cheesy music ahead!'" thing though.
Could it just be the sound youre using?

Beautiful song and well sung. The backing though sounds too artificial to me. One or two acoustic instruments added would contribute a lot, I think, to the sincerity of the message.

Thanks for the replies. I used blade to convert to mp3. The sounds in the track are pretty cheesy, they were all made using a pretty cheep synth. You gotta admit the girl can sing though.
